Excellent small hotel in a good location

Hotel San Marco is a lovely hotel located just outside the walls of Lucca with fantastic staff making it a pleasure to stay here. The breakfast is delicious with a lovely selection of food. The pool is a great place to relax and cool off with a nice drink

A fabulous hotel in Lucca

We stayed here for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the hotel was a 10 minute stroll to the centre of Lucca . The breakfast was plentiful, the pool was lovely albeit small but the stand out stars were the staff, they truly went above and beyond.A special mention to Francesco and Ina . We look forward to returning one day soon. Thank you for the perfect holiday .

Wir waren für 11 Tage in Lucca, davon für 4 Nächte in diesem Hotel. Das Haus ist familiengeführt, sehr sauber, das Personal ist herzlich und aufmerksam, das Frühstück reichhaltig und, man staunt, die Betten (Matratzen) sind vorzüglich. Guter Schlaf ist garantiert. Der Garten ist schön angelegt (wird täglich gepflegt), ist klein aber fein. Der Pool ist ausreichend groß. Alles ganz wunderbar. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, sind als Gäste willkommen gewesen. Nur ein Wehrmutstropfen: Einige Gäste (allen voran die US-Bürger) waren sehr laut (am Pool). Rücksichtslos und impertinent ... aber was soll´s: Wo keine Kultur ist, kann man auch keine erwarten! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall in dieses wunderbare Haus zurück. Die vielen herzlichen Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen im Haus sind jeden Besuch wert! Und auch: Das Hotel liegt absolut fußgünstig zur Altstadt von Lucca. Max. 10 Minuten für Fußlahme :-) - die anderen schaffen das in 5 Minuten ... Sixtus & Andrea

Wie bei Freunden

Wir sind nun zum 2. Mal in diesem Hotel gewesen. Die Gastfreundlichkeit ist einfach umwerfend. Jeder Wunsch wird sofort erfüllt. Mag er noch so „ausgefallen“ sein. Die Zimmer sind groß, freundlich und sauber. Man kann einfach nur positives sagen. Man spürt, dass das Betriebsklima sehr gut ist. Alle gehen nett und freundlich miteinander um und dass strahlt auf die Gäste ab. Besonders möchten wir die Damen von Frühstücksbüffet erwähnen. Sie sind alle unglaublich freundlich und es macht Freude dort zu frühstücken. Das Frühstück ist natürlich auch sehr gut. Es fehlt an Nichts - egal ob man lieber herzhaft oder süß Fräcken möchte. Perfect location just outside the city walls.

Stayed here for 3 nights a few weeks ago and upon arrival we were kindly given a room upgrade which had a lovely garden and a shaded outdoor terrace, which was amazing thank you 🙏. The hotel is in an ideal location just outside the city walls and was an easy 10 minute walk into the historical centre. The pool and outdoor eating / bar area was nice and quite quirky and a nice place to eat breakfast if you wanted to sit outside that is. Speaking of breakfast there was plenty of choice each day, fruit, cereals, continental meats & cheeses, pastries, breads and a few hot plate selections as well. A perfect way to start the day and something for everyone. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean each day and all the staff we met whether cleaning, catering or on reception were all very friendly and helpful. Reception staff provided maps and explained where the highlights of the walled city were which was good, and we hired bikes for 1/2 day from reception as well. After an early start we were up and about exploring this beautiful city and we managed a few hours late after to chill with a beer / wine in the sun before heading into the city for an evening meal. Lucca was amazing as was the hotel and both get a 10 out 10 from me and will be a place (and hotel) I’ll come back to. Thank You 🙏.

Great hotel, home from home

The hotel was excellent. It’s clean, modern and comfortable. For a 3 star hotel it has a lot of facilities particularly the pool, garden and parking which were important for us as we stayed for 2 weeks. The staff were brilliant, friendly, helpful, and knowledgable about trips and restaurants. Special thanks to Ena, Francesco and Fabio for making our stay extra special :) and the rest of the team who always had a smile. The hotel really felt like a home from home, and we will definitely be back!

A Lovely Relaxing Experience.

A lovely, friendly, warm welcome by Francesco which was subsequently mirrored by all the other staff with whom we came in to contact. You know you are in a good place when they know how you take your coffee at breakfast without asking. Breakfast, which could be taken in the well maintained garden area, had a decent selection of items and the croissants were exceptional. Our room was always cleaned to a very high standard as were the communal areas and gardens/pool area. Swimming pool large enough for a dip after a day's sightseeing and we could always find a seat. Room and bathroom was big enough for us and the air con was pleasantly quiet. Hotel located in a quiet area a short walk from the town walls and all its attractions. Francesco and colleagues provided us with good information on things to see and tucked away restaurants that we may have missed. I know where I'm staying if I return to Lucca.

Hidden Gem

We are hotel snobs and never stay in three star hotels but decided to give this hotel a try based on other reviews. The staff are all really friendly, cant do enough for you and really helpful! Cleaners left our room immaculate every day, beds really comfy, shower high pressured and lovely! The hotel is situated perfectly around 10mins from the city walls a lovely leisurely strolll! It even has a small pool to use when you come back from your sightseeing!! If you are coming to Lucca this is s lovely well run family hotel!! We will be back.

Fantastic short break

Wow! What a gem of a hotel. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Cleanliness was outstanding, room excellent for a three night stay. Hotel situated about a 10min walk to the city walls. Great location. The breakfast was plentiful, with a good variety of pastries, cereals, bread, meats etc. Gluten free options available as well as rice, oat or soya milk. The staff were polite and friendly and couldn't do enough to help you. Special mention to Francesco and Ina. Nothing was too much trouble for them, from recommendations for restaurants/places of interest to cost, calling taxis, providing maps. Cannot fault it and will definitely be returning, hopefully next summer en route to cinque terre. Grazie mille.

quiet location near to centre

excellent hotel within walking distance of the city centre. Friendly staff who were always on hand to advise and assist. Rooms impeccably clean and comfortable. Breakfast was substantial, hot and cold options, all of a very high quality. Would thoroughly recommend.

piccoli miglioramenti per rendere un esperianza ottima

La posizione è davvero comoda per esplorare la città, e le camere sono pulite e di dimensioni adeguate. Ho apprezzato particolarmente la gentilezza e la disponibilità del personale, sempre pronto ad aiutare con un sorriso. Tuttavia, come in ogni struttura, ci sono sempre margini di miglioramento. Vorrei offrire due suggerimenti che potrebbero contribuire a rendere l'esperienza degli ospiti ancora più piacevole. Il primo punto riguarda il bagno. Anche se i rubinetti sono di design, li ho trovati un po' scomodi da utilizzare. Modificare il montaggio in modo che siano più ergonomici potrebbe sicuramente aumentare il comfort dei clienti durante il loro soggiorno. Il secondo suggerimento riguarda la colazione. Seppur internazionale, ho notato che non è particolarmente abbondante. Un aspetto che può essere migliorato è la presentazione delle brioche. Le vetrinette attualmente utilizzate, in particolare quelle per la parte dolce, potrebbero essere sostituite con piatti che mostrano chiaramente il tipo di brioche (vuota, integrale con crema, marmellata, ecc.). Questa piccola modifica non solo renderebbe l'operazione di scegliere una brioche più comoda, ma eviterebbe anche confusione tra gli ospiti. In conclusione, l'albergo offre una buona base per chi visita Lucca e sono sicuro che con alcuni piccoli aggiustamenti potrebbe diventare ancora più accogliente. Nel complesso, consiglio vivamente questa struttura a chi cerca un soggiorno confortevole in questa splendida città.

Idéale pour famille avec chien

Nous avons été incroyablement satisfaits de notre séjour de cinq jours dans cet hôtel en février 2025, ainsi que des conseils et du service amicaux que Fabio, à la réception, nous a prodigués dès notre arrivée. L'hôtel est situé dans un quartier calme, à seulement 15-20 minutes à pied du centre-ville, et à 5-10 minutes de l'endroit idéal pour promener notre chien. Les deux chambres que nous avons occupées étaient très confortables et calmes et nous avons apprécié les salles de bains propres avec des douches chaudes et puissantes. Le choix de plats délicieux au petit-déjeuner était fantastique, et le personnel était également très amical et serviable. Nous attendons déjà avec impatience notre prochaine visite !

Hotel strategico a poca distanza dalle mura di Lucca. Pulizia al Top. ( Nonostante avessimo avuto un cane al nostro rientro era tutto perfetto e disinfettato).Cordiali, disponibili alle richieste del cliente. Ci si sente in famiglia perché la simpatia fa da padrona. Che dire....a presto!!

Soggiorno perfetto

Soggiorno perfetto, albergo che potrebbe fregiarsi della quarta stella. Camere insonorizzate e ben riscaldate, pulizia con cura in tutti i locali, colazione buona e abbastanza varia, personale efficiente e cortese, struttura ristrutturata di recente, posizione rispetto al centro storico perfetta (5 min. a piedi)

Hotel pulitissimo, grazioso e comodissimo. Personale gentilissimo, accettano cani anche a colazione senza fare problemi come invece molti hotel purtroppo fanno. Garage comodo e zona molto bella. Super hotel merita più stelle delle 3 che ha!

Strategico

Siamo stati in questo hotel in occasione del Lucca Summer festival e devo dire che la scelta è stata azzeccatissima. Situato a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro di Lucca,dispone di un parcheggio gratuito di fronte . Gentilezza e disponibilità del personale fanno la differenza. Ottima la colazione la pulizia delle stanze ,comodissimo il materasso e la ciliegina sulla torta è la piscina. Ci siamo trovati veramente bene e lo terremo in considerazione per il prossimo concerto al Lucca summer festival.

Ottima scelta

Location tranquilla con comodo parcheggio. Camere pulite e ben tenute. Letto molto comodo. Ottima colazione, varia con ampia scelta di alimenti dolci e salati La gentilezza e disponibilità dello staff mi hanno davvero colpito. Ottimo rapporto costo/qualità. Tornerei

Si dorme divinamente

Meraviglioso Hotel, pulizia impeccabile, stanza spaziosa e ottima colazione. Personale cordiale e accogliente. Non ho mai dormito così bene in un hotel come qui. Materasso perfetto, cuscini perfetti, insomma, Barbieri ne sarebbe rimasto entusiasta.
